Kiko Haul / First Impressions
My parent's recently went to Sicily and, as there's no Kiko Cosmetics store remotely close to where I live, I asked my stepmum to pick me up a few surprises. I know I can trust her to get me things that will suit me and she knows what I wear on a daily basis so I let her choose products for me instead of giving her a list of specific items!
First item is this really sweet pink and orange case. It's quite small but would fit in the essentials that you need to top-up for the day! It's quite squishy (?) So I'm certain it would do a pretty good job at protecting any powders. I know mine are always breaking whenever I take them out with me!
When I saw this kabuki brush I just about squealed because it's so cute and small. I've used Kiko brushes before and if you've ever felt any of them you'd understand just how soft and beautiful they are! I've been using this everyday to apply my powder once I've finished applying makeup. It ensures a decent coverage and is basically just an utter delight to use! The handle of it is a gorgeous purple-blue petrol colour too which I love.
At £16.90 it's quite expensive but I can definitely vouch for the quality of it. I also love the mini pouch that comes with it, I forget what the fabric is called but it's almost like snakeprint chainmail? Either way it reminds me of the 90's somehow! It's part of their Midnight Siren range which is all packaged similarly, you can view the whole collection here.
Next up is this kohl eyeliner in a gorgeous green shade. I wore this colour constantly on my eyes back when I had ginger hair. I can see myself wearing this a lot in the coming months as it's a great colour for Autumn! The lasting power of this eyeliner is insane, even after using the Garnier Micellar water to remove this swatch you could still see a faint outline of it on my hand! I used it alongside a green smokey eye (using shadows from the Urban Decay Vice Palette) and received a couple of compliments on it at work! I definitely recommend this shade if you have red hair or a pale skintone, and if not, then check out their range of colours if you're looking for a fab new eyeliner that will stay put throughout the night!
I've only used this Volume & Definition Top-Coat Mascara once at the time of writing, and I stupidly didn't realise that it said top-coat on it so I'm not really sure if I got the full effect of it, It did however define my eyes really nicely and gave me a bit of length!
The formula is great for me as I hate mascaras that are too wet, this one is quite thick and the brush has real bristles as opposed to plastic ones which I despise. I'll make sure I try this out how it's intended to be used and get back to you on my full verdict!
MAN this eyeshadow palette is SO freakin' pretty I can barely deal wit it. My everyday look is using matte versions of these colours, but I find that towards this time of year I will wear more glitter/shimmery shadows (party season ain't it ;D) Mine is in the colourway '100 Unexpected Rosy Taupe' which doesn't really make sense to me as it's not particularly rosy. There's 3 other colour varieties and I'm lusting after 'Coral Burgundy' and 'Jungle Green.'
I've used Kiko's single eyeshadows before which I'm a huge fan of, the pigmentation is fantastic. This is my first Kiko palette and I'm seriously impressed. The shadows are domed which obviously is great as you're getting more product for your money! (This palette costs £13.90 so it works out cheaper than buying their shadows separately!)
I've found that the shadows are the perfect consistency, not too chalky but not too creamy if that makes sense?
I didn't experience a huge amount of fallout which is always annoying, I find that it's usually worse for darker glitter shadows so I was worried the darker shade in this palette would have fallout but that's not the case! Hurray!
The two lighter shades are super subtle but pretty when layered over other shadows that you may have! I've been using the lightest shade as a highlight which, in my opinion looks amazing!
Last but not least is the Metallic Shine Eyeshadow (£6.90) in Absolutely Rose. This is the perfect base shadow for fans of the Naked 3 palette, including me! I would compare it to the Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo cream shadows although I'm not sure if it's better than them? The texture isn't as creamy as I expected it to be but the colour payoff is great so I'm willing to give it a shot as it's a great base that made my shadows last longer and it's easy to blend powder shadows ontop of it without it feeling sticky!
When I worked in Paris there was a Kiko Store in our shopping centre so me and my friend Lauren would find ourselves in there nearly every lunch break and going back to work with our hands covered in swatches!
